The Portal House

Invisible technology for a simpler, more connected and efficient family life
The Portal House was built around one clear idea: technology should simplify life, not complicate it. The project was developed for a young family that values simplicity, connection, family time, music and energy efficiency.
From the beginning, the goal was not only to integrate systems, but to design the complete atmosphere of the home. AKTIVA was responsible for the technology integration, lighting design and supply of fixtures, ensuring control over the result from concept to execution.
The challenge
The client wanted an intuitive, connected and efficient home. Technology needed to be present throughout the residence without feeling intrusive or complex. The system had to enable simple control, music throughout the home, reliable connectivity, integrated security and lighting designed as part of the architecture.
The AKTIVA solution
AKTIVA designed an integrated residential ecosystem where lighting, audio, solar protection, networking, security and automation work together to respond naturally to the family’s lifestyle.
Integrated systems
- Ubiquiti network and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
- CCTV video surveillance system.
- Video intercom and IP telephony.
- Multiroom audio for social areas, private spaces and outdoor zones.
- Lutron HomeWorks lighting control.
- Motorized shades integrated with environmental conditions.
- Occupancy and natural light sensors for energy efficiency.
One user experience
One of the key decisions was to unify the network, video surveillance, video intercom and IP telephony into a single ecosystem. This enabled centralized management, remote access, monitoring and a simpler interface for the user.
Instead of multiple applications and fragmented controls, the client interacts with a clearer system, reducing friction and improving long-term operation.
Lighting design
Lighting was one of the central elements of the project. AKTIVA developed the full lighting design and supplied all fixtures, working with warm, uniform, layered light aligned with the architectural lines of the home.
The system adapts to natural light and room occupancy, providing visual comfort and energy efficiency without excessive lighting.
The rack as the system core
The rack was designed as a clean, stable and easy-to-maintain core. System segmentation, thermal management, cable organization, service access and long-term reliability were all considered from the beginning.
Result
The Portal House achieved a simple, connected and efficient residential experience, where technology works in the background to improve the family’s daily life. Lighting, audio, security, connectivity and automation are naturally integrated with the architecture and the client’s lifestyle.
